Rick T. Hughes

Rick Hughes, age 54 of Sylvania, passed away Thursday, June 2nd, 2011. He was born on July 14, 1956 to Warren A. and Dolores B. (Taylor) Hughes in Toledo. Rick worked for Johnson Control in the maintenance department for nearly 25 years. One of Rick's favorite past times was fishing, he would fish anywhere he could, he especially enjoyed the time he spent on Lake Erie. He docked his boat on Lost Peninsula and often times his chocolate lab, Molly would accompany him on his fishing trips. Rick also enjoyed taking care of his home and his garden.

Left to cherish his memory is his long-time girlfriend, Julie Miller; sister, Kathryn (Joe Barton) Davis; brothers, John and Howard Hughes; three nieces and nephews; six great-nieces and nephews; canine companion, Molly and fishing buddy, Daryl.

The family will receive guests Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Monday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
