Richard Robert Williams, 65, of Napoleon, Ohio, passed away on June 14, 2023 at Flower Hospital. Rich was born on May 17, 1958 in Fayetteville, North Carolina to the late Vernon K. and Barbara A. (Battig) Williams.
Surviving are his children, Jeremy Thompson, Jamie Thompson, Christopher Williams, and Nicole (Michael) Dauterman; and the mother of his children and former wife Kathy Swerlein; and grandchildren, Hunter, Alexa, Emma, Sway and a granddaughter on the way; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was the oldest of his seven siblings: Michael, Cynthia Fellers, Diana (Rob) Liaeff, Scott, Kevin (Lisa), Matthew (Marguerite), and Colette (Sam) Swarthout; Rich was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Aaron Fellers and many other dearly missed relatives.
Rich was a 1976 graduate of Anthony Wayne High School and also attended Penta County Vocational School studying Commercial Art. He worked in Management at Escast in Waterville and then at WinCo Products in Whitehouse. Rich was an avid lover of all animals, especially of the exotic kind like snakes and other reptiles as well as his African Grey parrot, Konrad. Rich loved all things Sci-Fi, with Star Trek being his favorite. He enjoyed reading and learning as he had a very curious and creative mind. Tinkering with and building all types of gadgets was a hobby of Rich's. Daytona Beach was a favorite place for him, enjoying family, fishing, and exploring nature in the sea salt air and sun.
Rich was a big kid at heart as he joked around all the time. He loved telling stories to anyone who'd lend an ear in hopes they would have a good laugh.
Rich will be greatly missed by his loved ones.
A special thank you goes to Rich's 'Aunt' Lois Manion, as she held a huge place in his heart.
