Richard W. "Dick" Keith, Sr., age 81, of Toledo, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Regency Hospital where he was surrounded by his family. He was born on April 27, 1933 to Roy and Irene (Dreher) Keith in Toledo. Dick proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. For 45 years he worked for Toledo Edison as a switchboard operator for Acme and Bayshore Plants, retiring on August 1, 1990. He was a member of the Local 25 I.B.E.W. In his youth he was an avid bowler, having bowled in various leagues in Toledo. A favorite past time of his after retirement was going to the mall where he would sit and socialize and have a bite to eat. He also enjoyed rooting for the Dallas Cowboys and Pittsburgh Steelers.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Keith; daughter, Deborah Kuhr and grandson, Brian Keith. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Pamela Lee and Richard W. (Terry) Keith, Jr.; step-children, Anthony (Diane) Paren and Lynne Paren; grandchildren, Michael (Liz) Lee and Nicholas Lee; Matthew, Christopher and Derrick Keith; Gregory and Amanda Martinez; four step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, Gage, Ethan, Jaxson Lee and Blake Keith; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive guests on Thursday, February 26, 2015 from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Thursday at 6:00 p.m.
