Richard Franklin Vore, Sr.
Richard F. Vore, Sr. age 82, a longtime resident of Holland, Ohio passed away Wednesday, January 26th, 2005 in Northwest Ohio Hospice, Toledo. He was born February 22, 1922 to Franklin Ellis and Iva Anna (Ziegler) Vore in Zanesville, Ohio. Richard was employed with Toledo Steel Tube for 38 years as a Plant Supervisor, retiring in 1982. He was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran and a Pearl Harbor survivor receiving many medals during his service, some of which included a Bronze Star, the Victory Medal of WWII and the American Defense Service Ribbon. Richard was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed many fishing trips on Lake Erie.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by Dorothy P. Vore; Lois E. Vore; Lois A. Vore; grandson, Joshawa Corley and granddaughter, Holly Anne Vore. He is survived by his loving children, Terry Vore of MA; Lorri Vore of Toledo; Constance Vore of Toledo; Bob Vore of Pemberville; Bill Vore of Toledo; Cheryl (Jeffrey) Rockwell of NC; Mike Straub of West Liberty and David Straub of WA; grandchildren, Hannah Vore; Seth Corley; Keith Vore; Dan Rieger; Gerrett Rieger; Stephanie Rieger; Tara Vore; Abby Vore; Malissa Vore; Emily Vore; Joey Vore; Kristy Vore; Brittany Watts; Nathan Watts; Amanda Rockwell; Jennifer Rockwell; Kaitlyn Rockwell; Jacklyn Rockwell and 30 great grandchildren.
