Richard A. Tanner, age 82, of Toledo, passed away peacefully, December 28, 2021 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. He was born on October 9, 1939 to James and Lillian (Kibler) Tanner in Toledo. Richard was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked in the HVAC industry until retiring at the age of 65. Richard worked at Myers Farm in Oregon, OH after retirement for many years. He was an avid fan of NASCAR, especially of Dale Earnhardt Sr. and loved working on race cars with Chris Silva and Robert Galdes. Richard could often be found tinkering around the house, yard, anywhere. His quirky sense of humor, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by those who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Tanner; brother-in-law, Ron Moore; and sister-in-law, Carol Tanner. He is survived by his wife of almost 57 years, June Tanner; daughters, Kris (Roy Cover) Cooper and Sheri (Ben) Wagner; grandchildren, Robert (Dani Wolking) Cooper, Baileigh (Vincent) Cooper-Shack, Skyler Chinni, Logan Wagner, Mason Wagner and Brent Chinni; one great-grandson on the way; two step-great-grandsons, Kaiden and Zach; siblings, David Tanner, Larry (Mary Beth) Tanner and Linda Moore; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Sheri & Ben's Home, 1316 Eleanor Ave., Toledo, OH 43612 from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
