Richard T. Pfund
Richard T. Pfund, age 89, of Toledo, passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at his son's home in Lambertville, Michigan. He was born October 18, 1918 to Walter and Elva (Thorton) Pfund in Lambertville, Michigan. Richard was a Chief in U.S. Navy serving in World War II on the U.S.S. Mellville. He was a longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church. Richard worked as a model and pattern maker throughout his life. He often enjoyed woodworking and spending time outdoors.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Mary Alice Pfund and sister, Ruth Hilliard. He is survived by son, Scott (Jan) Pfund; daughter, Sally (William Bush) Pfund; grandchildren, Ashley, Erin, Lauren, Kyleen, Collin, Logan, Dalton and Sean; sister, Jean Swinghammer; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive guests on Sunday from 2 – 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Monday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Merlin Jacobs. Interment will follow in Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
