Richard Swope

Richard "Dick" Swope, age 58 of Toledo passed away Friday, January 7th, 2005 surrounded by his loving wife and family in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. He was born August 28, 1946 to Walter and Grace (McConnell) Swope in Cresson, Pennsylvania. Dick proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a Mason and a Shriner and also an active Indian Motorcycle rider. Dick was employed with Toledo Technology for more than 27 years.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Grace and two brothers who died in infancy. He is survived by his loving wife, Debra (Reese) Swope; brothers, Robert and Raymond Swope; sisters, Judith Monto; Mary Brannon; Juanita Osborne; Cheryl Guhl and Grace Young; children, Donald Swope; Christie Jones; Brooke Bicanovsky and Tiffany Ertle and grandchildren, Savannah; Spencer; Brittany; Bailey; Josh and Nicole.

The family will receive guests Tuesday from 12-3:00 and 5-8:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. Officiating will be Deacon Michael Pence.
