Richard Staley
August 27, 1928 — April 30, 2014
Richard Staley, 85, went to be with Jesus, the Lord who he loved, on April 30, 2014, surrounded by members of his church family. He was born to the late Gertrude (Ayers) and Russell Staley on August 27, 1928.
Richard lived most of his life in foster homes, being mentally challenged. He was last cared for by Viola Ruth Cutlip until he became a resident of Heartland of Waterville Nursing Home in March 2005. Richard became a member of the Christian Fellowship of Toledo, now in Holland, in approximately 1965 where he became known as the Promise Keeper and Prayer Warrior. He also had a great childish fascination with dinosaurs and he would gladly show you his collection.
Richard is survived by many friends who loved him, especially those who for many years provided transportation to church, spiritual help and other activities. Thank you to the nurses and staff of Heartland of Waterville for their outstanding, loving care for Richard.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Christian Fellowship of Toledo, 6711 Pilliod Rd., Holland, OH 43528, to assist with burial expenses.
The Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Heartland of Waterville, 8885 Browning Drive, Waterville, OH 43566.
