Richard Sroczynski

Richard D. Sroczynski, of Toledo, age 75, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 31, 2011. He was born February 19, 1935, to Joseph T. and Jeanette F. (Oleksiak) Sroczynski in Toledo. Richard graduated from Macomber High School in 1954, and he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army 137th Military Police. He married Shirley J. (Berger) Sroczynski on June 29, 1957, and they spent 53 years together. Richard worked at Able Body Shop as an auto body repairman, retiring after 38 years of service. He was presently attending Emmanuel Baptist Church. Throughout his life Richard enjoyed fishing and boating on Lake Erie and golfing with family and friends. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeye football fan, Yankee fan and a devoted dog lover.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Shirley; daughter, JoAnn (Keith) Grindle and son, Donald Sroczynski; grandchildren, Ryan, Rylee and Jarrett and brother, Thomas Sroczynski. Preceding him in death were his parents; daughter, Vicki Lynn Sroczynski; sister, Eleanor Sroczynski; brother, James Sroczynski; half-sister, Leona Sankiewicz and many faithful canine companions.

The family will receive guests Friday 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
