Richard Schnapp

Richard Schnapp, a cherished son of Toledo, Ohio, and a dedicated family man, passed away at home on October29, 2024 Born on April 24, 1965 he brought joy and warmth to those around him for nearly six decades. As he departed this world, he was lovingly surrounded by his family, who will forever hold dear the memories of his laughter and kindness.

Rich was employed by Transco Railway for 19 years as a welder and also worked for Metropolitan Coding, where his talent and dedication shone bright, earning him the respect of colleagues and clients alike. Beyond the workspace, Rich’s heart thrived through his unwavering loyalty to his beloved University of Michigan, transforming every game day into a jubilant celebration. His passion for life extended into the great outdoors, where he found tranquility in fishing, and the thrill of the open road on his cherished Harley Davidson motorcycle. Rich and his wife, Laura also enjoyed traveling to East Harbor State Park on weekends.

He leaves behind a loving family who will carry on his legacy: his devoted wife, Laura Schnapp, and their sons, Jacob Schnapp, Dion Esterline, Eugene (Ashley Esterline ), and David Maidlow;  brother, James (Jacqulyn) Schnapp, sister, Rebecca (Douglas) Ramsay and five grandchildren. Rich will also be missed by his special friend, Chad.

Rich was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Bonnie (Fairchild) Schnapp, sister, Ginger Schnapp and his beloved dogs Candy and Shady.

A visitation to celebrate Rich's life will take place on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Newcomer SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd, Toledo, OH 43614. His funeral service we be at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home and will be conducted by his Family and Friends.
