Richard E. Sauter

Richard E. Sauter, age 86, passed away January 5, 2023 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. The son of Paul and Evelyn (Schneider) Sauter, he was born June 27, 1936 in Adrian, MI. Richard was a graduate of Macomber High School. He married Sharon Liechty on September 24, 1960. He worked for Washington Local Schools for 40 years as a painter and boiler operator. Richard also operated a lawn care and maintenance business. He enjoyed NASCAR and Indy auto racing. In his younger years he built his own drag racing car. Richard had a real sweet tooth, especially for caramel.

He is survived by his children, Douglas (Jacki) Sauter, Ann Sauter (Jeff Nowicki), Sandra Sauter; grandchildren, Hanna, Ben, Adam and Thomas. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Sharon; his parents and his sister, Barbara Saucier.

There will be no visitation and services will be private.
