Richard "Dick" Eugene Roberts, age 85 of Osseo, Michigan, passed away February 3, 2022. Richard was born October 27, 1936 in Toledo, Ohio, to James and Vera (Neal) Roberts.
Dick grew up frequently visiting his grandparent's farm in Elmore, Ohio. This is where he gained his love for the outdoors, which included fishing, hunting, boating and riding his "56" tank shift Harley that he rebuilt. He attended Sylvania Burnham High School before proudly serving his country during the Korean War. Dick Joined the U.S. Air Force at age 17, where he was stationed in Germany and France. During his service he earned the National Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the Air Crew Member Badge. He worked for Seaway Beverage Co. for many years as a forklift/automotive mechanic and then retired form Brownberry Bread in 1999 as shop supervisor.
Dick had a passion for playing the guitar and listening to country music. Two memorable and favorite songs he would sing and play for family and friends were "You Are My Sunshine" and "It Ain't Gonna Rain No More".
In 1995 Dick married Deborah Burns and they fulfilled his dream of living the lake life. Many unforgettable memories were made with his children and grandchildren at the lake. In recent years he loved spending winters in Florida with his daughter Tracey. He was a proud father and Papa. He will forever live in our hearts.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Pamela (Art) Garn, Kimberly Roberts, Tracey Shures, Shelley (Scott) Heuerman, Dawn Roberts, Jeannette (Robert) Dilworth; step-sons, Robert Keeler Jr. and Martin Keeler; 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and fur-babies, Luke and Lucy.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Carolyn; second wife, Deborah; siblings, James and Dennis Roberts.
The family will receive guest Sunday, February 13, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions – SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will Begin Monday, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
