Richard L. Teets, Sr.
March 10, 1940 — November 25, 2014
Richard L Teets, Sr, 74, died November 25, 2014 surrounded by his family after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease.
Richard is survived by his loving wife Sandra for 51 years, a devoted father of Richard Jr., Brooke, Paige, and Christopher,a dedicated Grandfather of Alexandria, David, Nicholas, and Jacob, a friend, coach, and volunteer to many.
Owner and operator of a family business for many years. Richard graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1963 where he played football and was a member of Beta Theta Pi. He was first team all state in football and baseball from Worthington High School. After college Richard was drafted into the NFL by the Kansas City Chiefs and Detroit Lions, and played for the Toledo Tornadoes. Richard was the Maumee High School Athletic Booster Club President and Little League Coach for many years. Richard enjoyed hunting and fishing, and owned and cared for several standard bred horses. Richard was a member of the USTA.
The family will receive guests Friday, November 28, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral at 1:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). Burial will be at Forest Hills Cemetery, Napoleon, Ohio
A special thanks to Swan Pointe Care Center and to Hospice of Northwest Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
