Richard L. Kohn

Richard L. "Dick" Kohn, age 72, of Toledo, passed away Friday, March 8, 2013 at home. He was born on August 8, 1940 to Richard and Ruth (Farrell) Kohn in Toledo. Dick was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving his country proudly during the Vietnam War. He worked at General Motors for 37 years before retiring. Dick was a member of the AM Vets, VFW Post #606 and the American Legion Post #576. He enjoyed fishing, taking casino trips and traveling to the Upper Peninsula. Dick loved nothing more than the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-daughter, Patti Laney; and grandson, Eddie Malloy. Dick is survived by the love of his life of 25 years, Joan Hartman; children, Sylvia (Scott) Burke, Richard (Jeanette) Kohn, Beth (George) Aouad, Karen (Melody) Kohn, Chris (Dan) Haar, Jackie (Roy) Vollmer, Kathy Miller, Julie Hartman and Danny (Lori) Hartman; granddaughter and caregiver, Carol Malloy-Edwards; 20 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; sister, Linda (John) Campbell; and many nieces and nephews and dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Wednesday from 2 – 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with Funeral Services beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
