Richard T. "Dick" Knott Sr., age 73, of Toledo, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 28, 2011 at Ebeid Hospice Residence. He was born on May 29, 1937 to Jesse and Anne (Fillian) Knott in Fremont. Dick married Carolyn E. (Pugh) Knott and this June they would have celebrated their Golden Anniversary. He worked for over 25 years as a sale representative for various local food companies in Toledo. Dick was a longtime member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. He was an avid bowler and over the years Dick was a member of various bowling leagues throughout Toledo, including University Lanes men's bowling league. In his spare time he enjoyed working on cars and maintaining them, he also shared this craft with his sons whom he loved spending time with.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Carolyn; sons, Richard T. "Rick" Knott Jr. and Michael (Michelle) Knott and many dear family members that were very important to Dick. Preceding him in death were his parents and a sister.
The family will receive guests Wednesday from 2-4:00 p.m. and 6-8:00p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
