Richard H. Kesling, 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on August 4, 2021 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Richard was born May 31, 1936 in Toledo to Orval and Fern (Dorrell) Kesling.
He was a 1954 graduate of Woodward High School where he played many sports, made life long friends and was a member of the Pals Of Long Ago Remembering (POLAR) Group. Richard married his high school sweetheart, Mary H. (Mowery) Kesling, on February 11, 1956. He had a passion for music and played the bass fiddle for many years in the Dave Jordan Combo Band. Richard retired from construction work after 61 years. He was an avid boater especially at the family cottage on Black Lake. Richard was a lifelong Cleveland Indians and The Ohio State Buckeyes fan.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Dean (Vickie) Kesling, Julie (Michael) Schwarzkopf, and Marybeth (Scott) Sund; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Orville "Bud" Kesling, Carl Kesling.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Mary; and siblings, James Kesling, Jack Kesling, and Delaura "Sis" Lair.
Funeral Services will be private for the family due to COVID restrictions, and it will be live streamed for those who would like to attend virtually on Epiphany Lutheran Church - Toledo, Ohio's Facebook Page on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at 11 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Epiphany Lutheran Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Richard's memory.
