Richard D. Kenney

Richard D. "Wayne" Kenney, age 59, of Toledo, passed away August 7, 2021 at Park Terrace Nursing Home and Rehab. He was born on November 24, 1961 to Richard L. and Thelma (Harris) Kenney in Toledo, OH. Wayne attended Libbey High School and the University of Toledo. He loved music, especially the "Golden Oldies". Wayne enjoyed hanging out with his best friends, most importantly; Michelle, Bruce, Bryon, and Joseph, Denise and Shelly. He also loved going out to eat, had a great sense of humor and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Shawnta Kenney; brothers, Willie Jones and Glen Jones. Wayne is survived by his wife, Alesia "Lisa" Kenney; daughter, Cordora Soimis; grandson, Zamar Soimis; siblings, Sarah Kenney, Evalene Kenney, Margaret Jones, Sheila Kenney, Robert Jones and Kenneth Kenney; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

A Private Celebration to honor Wayne will be held at a later date. Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, Toledo (419-473-0300) assisted the family with professional services.
