Richard "Ricaardo" "Smitty" Leroy Kahr

Richard Leroy Smith Kahr, age 65, of Detroit, passed away February 15, 2020. Richard was born August 14, 1954 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He graduated from Bowling Green State University. He enjoyed working with children and helping them better themselves. Richard was musically gifted, he had published his own music and was an accomplished vocalist. Richard enjoyed sports. He was also an entrepreneur. His mission in life was to help others.

In addition to his parents, Richard was also preceded in death by his brother Clarence "Sparky" Kahr. Left to cherish his memory are family members; Cordie Kahr, Richard K. Kahr Jr, Marlise McNeeley, Martina Wright, Merica James, Jermaine McNeeley Sr., Linton McNeeley Sr., Tywana Smith, Jovon Mitchell, Josef Kahr, Cheryll Lane, Kemberley Hordges, Brett Hodges, Dwayne Hodges, Amil Robinson, Rahman Robinson, Akbar Robinson, Emmanuel Robinson and Ameerah Cook and a host of other family members and dear friends.

The family will receive guests, on Saturday, March 7, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions-SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo, Ohio 43614, (419) 381-1900 where a Celebration of his Life will begin at 3:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice in Richard's memory.
