Richard Kaczmarek, age 70, of Toledo, passed away surrounded by his family, Sunday, May 13, 2007 in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo Unit. He was born April 21, 1937 to Felix and Sophie (Kujawa) Kaczmarek in Toledo. Dick was a finish carpenter working in residential construction. He was also the owner of the former Great Lakes Sign Company and R&B Sandblasting. Dick was a member of F.O.E. #197. He collected trains for many years and enjoyed sharing his displays with family and friends. Dick enjoyed polish music and loved to play his organ. He also collected antique cars and making crafts of all kinds. Dick will be remembered for his sense of humor and ability to bring a smile to your face.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Dick is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Barbara (Day) Kaczmarek; daughter, Deborah Kaczmarek and son, Ralph Kaczmarek; granddaughters, Desiree; Crystal; Faith Lynn; Julie and Tina; brother, Robert Kaczmarek; sisters, Veronica Mazurek; Joanne Ballinger; Betty Young and Mary Smith; step sister, Antoinette Flores; step brothers, Mike and Danny Nowak and many loving nieces and nephews and special canine, "Sage".
The family will receive guests Thursday from 2-8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. Jerry S. Craig. Entombment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
