Richard Junior Jaeger, age 83, of Toledo, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo with his loving family by his side. He was born on June 12, 1936 to Henry and Jane (Sunderland) Jaeger in Middlepoint, Ohio. Junior was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. He always said "God, Family and Country" were the three most important things in life. He was a carpenter throughout his career until retiring. Junior was an avid outdoorsman; he enjoyed hunting, fishing and vegetable gardening. He liked golfing, The Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Junior enjoyed casino trips, coordinating family get-togethers for special occasions and spending time with family, especially with his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Jaeger; step-daughter, JoAnn Fisher; son, Fred Beringer; sons-in-law, Dave Fisher and John Bumbaugh; siblings, Bob Jaeger, Jane Ann Harrison, Mary Jane Poskarbiewicz, Paul Jaeger and Dorothy Mock.
Junior is survived by his loving children, Catherine Bumbaugh, Thomas (Betty) Beringer, Rachel (Mark) Miller and Chris (Lisa) Jaeger; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sister, Genevieve Wismer; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and neighborhood friends.
The family will receive guests on Saturday, July 20, 2019 from 12 – 5:30 p.m. at Newcomer – Southwest Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900) with Funeral Services beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
