Richard D. German

Richard D. German, age 90, of Toledo, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. He was born on March 20, 1926 to Teofil and Stella (Yardar) German in Toledo. Richard was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving his country in WWII. He was always finding ways to make people laugh. Richard truly was a jokester, which will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of over 60 years, Clare; and siblings, Alvin German, Adeline Walser, Mary Jane Kellar and Doris Jakubowski. Richard is survived by his loving daughters, Susan (Michael) Kern and Carol German; grandchildren, Christopher, Nicholas, Kimberly and Patrick Kern and Matthew and Jeffrey (Ashley Solomon) German-Lortie; great-granddaughter, Amelia Kern; and many other family members and friends.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Richard's nieces, MaryAnn and DorisAnn German for all of their love, care, visits, taking dad for ice cream and just spending time with him.
Private family services were held, per Richard's wishes. The Newcomer Funeral Home – NW Chapel, assisted the family with professional services.
