Richard P. "Rich" Fisher, age 72, of Toledo, passed away peacefully December 3, 2020 at home with his loving wife by his side. He was born on March 10, 1948 to Richard Sr. and Arlene Fisher in Toledo. Rich graduated from Libbey High School in 1967. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Vietnam War. Rich worked at Ohio Concrete Sawing and Drilling for many years and retired from Duffey Concrete Cutting in 2008. He was a member of the Cement Masons Local #886. Rich was also a lifetime member of the VFW.
Rich enjoyed coaching Whittier Jets football and baseball at St. Catherine of Siena Church. He was very social, and never met a stranger. If you met Rich, you always remembered him. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Rich never missed any of the kids sporting events, traveling near or far and spoiling them whenever he could. Rich and Ginny were also avid travelers with various friends. His smile, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by all who knew
and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sherry Jean Managhan; brother, Donnie Fisher; mother-in-law, Elizabeth Gray; brothers-in-law, Robert and Samuel Managhan. Rich is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Ginny Fisher; children, Angela (Michael) Bender and Richard (Erin) Fisher; grandchildren, Stephanie (Dustin) Ellinwood, Ryan Bender, RJ Fisher, Lauren Fisher and Grace Fisher; great-granddaughters, Lilian, Isabella and Macie; siblings, Duane Fisher, Marlene (Doug) Van Norman and Debbie Brewer; sisters-in-law, Susan Hoblit and Barbara (Redwan) Ebrahim; many other family members and dear friends.
The family will receive guests on Thursday, December 10, 2020 from 4 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Interment will be private at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. (For the safety of the Fisher family and guests masks are required with social distancing).
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the Veteran's Administration, Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society.
