Richard A. Etts, Sr.

Richard A. Etts, Sr., age 70, of Holland, passed away on November 9, 2017 at Ebeid Hospice surrounded by his intimate family. He was born on July 27, 1947 in Toledo, Ohio, the youngest of 17 children born to the late Ruha and Harry Etts.
Guided by his strong faith in the Lord, he was a devoted husband and father figure to many. All who knew him were immediately touched by his kindness and big heart. He taught us to love fishing and have respect for the outdoors. No matter what ailed him or how many times he was knocked down, he still did everything he could to be Dad and mentor. He will be remembered for his selflessness and great love for his family and friends.
Dad is survived by his beloved wife of over 50 years, Carolyn; children, Tina (Marty) Moline, Richard II (Shanna), Coretta (Amber R.) Martin and special daughter, Sarah P.; sister, Elaine "La-La" (Elmer) Fuller; 12 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and many children and grandchildren adopted into the heart. He was preceded by his parents and 15 siblings.
The family will receive guests on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Holland Free Methodist Church, 6605 Angola Rd., Holland, OH 43528. The Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, Dad would have preferred any memorials to be made through Holland Free Methodist Church.
