Richard A. "Dick" Zwyer, age 86, of Monclova, OH passed away March 31, 2025 at The Willows at Bowling Green. He was born July 8, 1938 in Moncolva, OH to Edward and Anna (Hallholber) Zwyer. He started farming with his father and raised chickens, then moved onto Heavy Highway work including sanitary storm water site work for building contractors and building bridges in both Ohio and Michigan. Dick worked for Glen Graffis in Woodville, OH , Norm Busch Inc., Waynesfield Construction, Fort Defiance Construction, Vernon Nagel Inc. and Armstrong Steel. He was an avid bowler and had several 300 games and enjoyed playing softball in his younger years. Dick also loved tending to his garden and fishing.
In addition to his parents, Dick was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Kathleen Zwyer; and sisters, Roseanne and Gloria. He is survived by his son, Michael (Jill) Zwyer; daughter, Deborah (Steve) Rice; grandchildren, Matthew Zwyer, Kyle (Cheryl) Zwyer, Bradley (Emily) Zwyer and Ashley (David) Nagy; great-grandchildren, Justin Zwyer, Ella Nagy and Sydney Zwyer.
The family will receive guests Saturday, April 5, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at Newcomer- SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Roth Memorial Cemetery, Monclova, OH.
Memorial contributions may be made to Tunnel to Towers in Dick's memory.
