Richard D. "Dick" Farthing

Richard D. “Dick” Farthing age 91, a lifelong resident of Maumee, Ohio passed away on July 17, 2024 at Toledo Hospital. He was born in Toledo on October 4, 1932 to Oliver C. and Bonnie V. (Swentzel) Farthing. 

Dick owned and operated his own car dealership and built a thriving masonry business. He was a member of Maumee United Methodist Church. Dick enjoyed golfing, bachi ball. Cars, car shows, being active and spending time with his family and friends. He will be remembered as being ornery; a great provider and protector with unconditional love. 

Surviving is his daughters, Betsy Farthing, Bobbi Galbraith and Peggy Farthing, 5 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Joan Farthing; granddaughter, Callie Beebe and brother, Edgar Farthing. 

Family and friends will be received at the Newcomer Funeral Home (Southwest Chapel) 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo on Sunday, July 28, 2024 from 1:00-4:00 PM. A celebration of life service will begin immediately after visitation at 4:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Maumee United Methodist Church, 405 Sackett St., Maumee, OH 43537.
