Richard "Dick" Howard Dail, 77, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2022.

Dick was born in Boston, Massachusetts to Howard and Dorothy (Jacobson) Dail on August 27, 1944. In September, 1961, he joined the US Army, serving 20 years, retiring as a SFC. In addition to serving 3 tours in Vietnam, he spent time as a DJ on Armed Forces Radio Network in Alaska and Germany. He was also a DJ for local radio stations in the 1970s and 1980s.

After retiring from the military he went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Toledo and a Master's Degree in International Business from Thunderbird School of Global Management in Arizona.

Dick was employed by Parker Steel in Toledo, Ohio for 17 years, retiring in 2010.

One of Dick's passions was playing golf, he spent many years volunteering for golf tournaments in and around the Toledo area, including the Solheim Cup, the Senior Open, and the Marathon Classic. He was active on the Toledo retiree's division four golf league and was their current Secretary. Dick's other passion was bowling for which he was a member of three different teams at Southwyck Lanes.

Dick was married to Dorothea E. (Henschel) Dail on April 16, 1994. Together they shared a love of travel and visited over 15 countries together, with their top favorite being Germany, Paris, and Aruba.

Dick and Dottie enjoyed each other's company riding motorcycles together and accumulated thousands of miles traversing across the United States and Canada for many years.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents; son, Richard "Rick" Dail; brothers, Steve and Cory Dail; and sister, Susan Janczak. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Dottie Dail; daughters, Laura (John) Meyer of Toledo, Ohio, Dianna (Steven) Johnson of Deltona, FL, and Deborah (Mohamad) Chamander of Tarpin Springs, FL; son, Daniel Dail of St. Petersburg, FL; bonus children, Ronald (Cathy) Henschel of Howe, IN, Laura (Manuel) Jimenez of Yuma, AZ, Curtis (Shelley) Henschel of Kalamazoo, MI and Bill (Faith) Henschel of Bristol, IN; 19 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

The family will receive guests Friday, March 25, 2022 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Friday at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Followed by military honors. Interment will be at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Vietnam Veterans of America in Dick's memory.
