Richard Cutcher

May 16, 1944 — January 14, 2021

Rick Cutcher, Sr., age 76, of Toledo, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2021 at the Toledo Hospital with loving family by his side. He was born on May 16, 1944 to Kenneth and June (Winkler) Cutcher in Toledo. Rick graduated from St. Francis de Sales High School in 1963. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War receiving a Purple Heart for his honorable service. For many years Rick worked in the construction business as a carpenter for his father's business then he went on to work with his brother's in their own contracting business. Throughout the years he also owned and operated various other companies. Rick then went on to obtain his Bachelor's Degree in Vocational Education. He enjoyed crime shows, mysteries and westerns. Rick was an avid sports fan, especially of the Cleveland Browns and The Ohio State Buckeyes. He was a longtime parishioner at GESU Catholic Church and was strong in his faith. Rick was very matter of fact and had a great sense of humor that will be missed by many. He looked forward to time spent with his family and grandchildren. Rick's smile, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dan Cutcher; son-in-law, Greg Mack. Left to cherish Rick's memory are his wife and soul mate of 43 years, Sandy Cutcher; sons, Rick (Ann) Cutcher Jr. and Jim (Michelle) Smith; daughters, Julie Mack, Candy (Jaxon) Fisher, Wendy (Jimmy) Hinds and Lisa (David) Green; grandchildren, Kayla, Brayden, Brianna, Jordan, David Jr., Sonye, Samyah, Samuel, Alexander, Cole, Tori, Jordyn, Nick, Anthony, Nathan, Kourtney; great-grandchildren, Aiden, Ermias, Lily, Chloe, Cayden, Kai, Trevonn and one on the way; brothers, Edward (Peggy) and Kevin (Sherri) Cutcher; cousin, Penny Heinrich; and many other family members and dear friends.

Services for Rick are private for family and friends. Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, Toledo (419-473-0300) assisted the family with professional services.
