Richard J. Cox of Toledo and formerly of Germantown, Ohio passed away February 8th, 2011. He was born February 13th, 1942 to Woodrow and Eurith (Crouch) Cox in Zag, Kentucky.
Richard is survived by his wife, Pamela L. Cox; sister, Judith A. (Clifton W. ) Owens; children, Karen (Rex) Hoit, Daren Bennett, Michael(Shannon ) Cox, Martin (Sara) Cox, Marcus Cox (Stefani Bowers), Michael (Korrine) Smith, Matthew (Katie) Smith, Jennifer (Kevin) Delaney; grandchildren, Brandon and Kelly Hoit, Curtis, Lee, Shane, Keva and Magnolia Cox, Sallie Bruke, Cierra and Dakota Denis, Liam Delaney; Elaina and Madison Smith; a niece; a nephew; an uncle; many aunts and cousins; and several close family friends. Richard was preceded in death by both parents; both in-law's, Raymond and Leota (Walters) Blossom; daughter, Elizabeth Cox and brother, Ronnie (Vernon) Cox.
Richard served in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany. He worked with many trucking companies including: Mason Dixon, Ryder and Cassens Transport; retiring from the Teamsters in 2003. Richard belonged to the Zenobia Shrine of Toledo, Ohio and he was active in the Masons of Miamisburg Lodge. Richard loved to tell stories and spend time with his family and friends.
The family will receive guests Friday from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Friday at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
The family will also receive guests Saturday from 10:00 a.m. – Noon with a Funeral Service beginning in the funeral home at Noon at Dalton Funeral Home, 6900 Weaver Rd., Germantown, Ohio 45327. Interment will follow in Germantown Union Cemetery.
