Richard Carpenter
Richard A. Carpenter, 65, passed away on August 4th, 2011. He was born on March 31st, 1946 in Toledo, Ohio.
Rick was a proud veteran; he served two tours in Vietnam. He received a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star for saving an officer under enemy fire. Rick retired from the US Postal Service. He enjoyed golfing and playing poker with his friends.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents, James and Marilyn (Stein) Jankowski. He leaves behind his wife of 34 years, Vickie; children, Jacqueline (Andrew) Szymanski, Katherine Carpenter; siblings, Mary Jean (John) Scare, Robert Hummer, Henry (Robin) Hummer and grandson, Samuel Szymanski.
The family will receive guests on Saturday, August 13th from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 Noon at Newcomer Funeral Home , 4752 Heatherdowns, Toledo (419-381-1900). A Memorial Service will begin at 12:00 Noon. Deacon Joe Malenfant officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Disabled American Veterans, 2802 Airport Hwy., Toledo 43609.
