Richard D. Calopietro, Sr.
June 13, 1948 — January 29, 2022
Richard "Big Rick" D. Calopietro, age 73, of Toledo, passed away January 29, 2022 at University of Toledo Medical Center. Richard was born June 13, 1948 in Toledo.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Rick worked at Jeep for several years, retiring in 2009. He was an avid bowler and loved watching the Pittsburgh Steelers. Rick will be remembered for his kind heart and always putting his family first. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Lora (Teddy Barber) Speelman, Richard (Miranda) Calopietro, Jr., David (Michelle) Calopietro, Anthony Calopietro, Rikki Calopietro and Larry (Heather) Lickert; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and one on the way.
The family will receive guests Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900) where Funeral Services will begin at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow at Springfield Township.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Lora Speelman in Rick's memory.
