Richard C. Peters
Richard C. "Dick" Peters, 78, went to be with the Lord on August 19th, 2011. He was born on January 26th, 1933 to the late Ida (Hughes) and Richard Peters in Chicago, IL.
Dick was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed golfing with his buddies in the Lair League at South Toledo Golf Course. Dick was the President and District Sales Manager of DoALL Toledo; finishing his career as a salesman for Right Tools. He loved reading, especially about history and government. The most important thing to Dick was his family and he loved spending time with them. He was the family's "Santa Claus."
In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by his sisters, Shirley and Dorothy. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 55 years, Joan; 4 daughters, Jane (David) Reilly, Judy (Steve) Bryson, Jo Peters, Jennifer (Mike) Sharpe; brothers, Tom and Harry; ten grandchildren; 2 great-grandsons and many dear friends.
The family will receive guests on Tuesday from 2-6:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd (419-381-1900). A Celebration of Life will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Children's Neuroblastoma Cancer Foundation, 360 W. Schick Rd. Suite 23, Unit 211, Bloomingdale, IL 60108 for Dick's great-grandson, Bryson Palmer, who was diagnosed at 4 months of age. Bryson is currently evidence free of cancer now at age 3.
