Richard C. Black

Richard Black of Toledo, Ohio, passed away January 22, 2023. Rick was born in Toledo on December 20, 1961 to Donna and John Black. He graduated from Rogers High School where he studied auto body repair but it wasn't until he took a job at Wickes Lumber running the mill that he'd find his true passion, wood working. Rick was an artist when given a piece of wood, making toys and furniture, no two pieces the same and all uniquely beautiful.
Rick was a friends friend, always there to lend a helping hand whenever asked. Rick was a handyman, like his father, a lover of demolition derby and his family.

Rick was preceeded in death by his father, John Black. Left to mourn his loss are his mother, Donna Black; son Richard Szczecinski; sister, Lisa (Dan) Peth; brothers, David (Becky) Black and Steve (Kim) Black along with several nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive guests Monday, January 30, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). A Celebration of Rick's life will be held Monday at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
