Richard W. Bishop

Richard W. Bishop, age 85, of Toledo, Ohio passed away Friday, December 11, 2020. He was born in Toledo on January 20, 1935 to the late Cleland and Helen (Eiser) Bishop.
Richard had a lifetime in the amusement park industry started with a 1947 Woody Wagon. He had four children and worked as General Foreman for the City of Toledo Division of Streets, Bridges and Harbors; he later retired in 1999. Richard was a known for being builder and in 2000 he purchased 14 acres on Kettering Drive in North Toledo where he built his home and several barns. He filled the rest of the land with rides, transforming the area into a small amusement park called Enchanted Forest Playland. Although the amusement park lived a short life, Richard said he was always able to do what he enjoyed, which was maintenance and creating and fixing rides. He is will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish Richard memories are his children, Judy (Chuck) Whitaker, Jeanie (Timothy) Hunter, and Joseph Bishop; daughter-in-law, Dusky (The Late Jay) Bishop; grandchildren, Daniel and Sarah Whitaker; sisters, Marilyn Kolbow and Nancy Ahrens.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Cleland J. and Helen (Eiser) Bishop; sons, James A. and Jay R. Bishop; and sister, Barbara Greenwood.
