Richard A. Lemon, age 57, passed away Wednesday, August 19th, 2009. He was born December 10th, 1951 to Dr. George and Charlotte (Worrell) Lemon in Toledo, Ohio. Richard graduated from Clay High School in 1970 and then hired out on The B&O Railroad, which later became a part of CSX where he continued his employment for 39 years. He held memberships with the United Transportation Union and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen for many years. Richard was also a veteran of the Ohio National Guard serving his country proudly from 1970-1976. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. Very recently, Richard received his Coast Guard Captains License and looked forward to putting it to good use.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. George and Charlotte Lemon. Richard is survived by his loving children, Richard "Rick" (Beth) Lemon, II; Daniel (Michelle) Lemon; Michael (Alyssa) Lemon and Kimberly (fiancé, Brian) Lemon; grandchildren, Ryan; Jack; Claire and Parker; sister, Patricia (Joe) Stegner of Seattle, WA and several nieces, nephews and dear friends and colleagues.
The family will receive guests Sunday from 2-8:00 p.m. and Monday from 5-7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Monday at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Fr. Martin Donnelly.
