Rev. Nathaniel "Nate" Falkner, age 70, of Toledo, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2007 in Flower Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 3, 1936 to Mr. & Mrs. Annie and Isaac Falkner in Hollysprings, Mississippi. Nate became an ordained minister, after attending Prophet for True Temple of Solomon in Chicago, Illinois. He was responsible for starting several AA Chapters in the Three Rivers area, as well as ministering at several juvenile and prison facilities over the years. Nate held memberships with and supported the NAACP, AA (Sylvania Chapter), and was Assistant Pastor of Redemption Baptist Church, Toledo.
In addition to his parents, Nate was preceded in death by his, sister, Susan Ross; nephew, Edward Ross; neice, Cynthia Ross; great aunt, Canary "Annie" White. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Deborah Ann (Wright) Falkner; children, Canary A. (Joseph) Falkner-Taddonio; Jeremiah Falkner; Darcy (Jesus) Mateo; Joe (Cheryl) Cooper; Barbara Brooks and Patricia Olson; 22 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren and a host of extended family members and dear friends.
The family will receive guests Wednesday from 3-6:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) with Funeral Services beginning at 6:00 p.m. Officiating will be Pastor Jerome Bush.
