René Rodriguez, Sr., 66, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2012 at Hospice surrounded by his entire loving family. He was born on July 1, 1946 to the late Felipe and Maria Rodriguez in Perrysburg, Ohio.
Loving and best father in the world, grandfather, brother, uncle and wonderful husband of 47 years. René was an avid golfer and bowler his entire life. He enjoyed camping and spending lots of time with family and friends. René was a Truck Driver for Seaway Foodtown for 30 years. He will be greatly missed.
René is survived by the love of his life, Janie; sons, René, Jr. (Amy) and Andy (Tracy); daughter, Tanya(Scott); grandkids, Alex, Emilio, Kelsey, Caitlin, Kamron, Matt and Connor; sisters, Rita (Tom), Margarita (Mike), Irene (Larry), Ruth (Dan); brothers, Rick (Tina), Noe (Debbie), David (Colleen), special sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Dale and Tammy Homler; many nieces, nephews, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws and friends. In addition to his parents, René was preceded in death by his brothers, Oscar and Felipe, Jr.
The family will receive guests on Saturday, July 28 from 1-2:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). There will be a "Celebration of Life" service beginning at 2:00 p.m.
The family requests memorial donations be made to: Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
