Raymond Starbird

November 26, 1929 — October 28, 2012

Raymond A. Starbird, 82, of Toledo, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on October 28, 2012, at the home of his daughter, Sheryl. He was born November 26, 1929, in Norway, Maine, the son of Frank Albert and Mrytis Mae (Wood) Starbird. He was the oldest of 6 siblings. On August 29, 1947, he married Patricia Herrick Starbird, who survives. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Terry Ely.

He graduated from Glen Cove Bible College in 1963 with a degree in Pastoral Studies. He was Pastor of the Wells Branch Community Church until 1967. Ray became the Business Administrator for Glen Cove Christian Schools, Glen Cove, Maine. During his employment, he represented the schools by accompanying the school music groups and preaching throughout New England. He was a member of the Association of Evangelical Business Officers.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Patricia, his son Robert (Linda) Starbird, Rockland, Maine, daughters: Sheryl (Deb) Starbird, Toledo, Ohio, Rebecca (Dale) Benner, Monroe, Michigan, and Ruth Campbell, Tarpon Springs, Florida. His sisters: Marge (Ron) Knightly, Cranbrook, B.C. Canada, Mildred (Emery) Richardson, Taylorsville, North Carolina, Eleanor (Earl) Jones, Sun City, Arizona, Louise Hunter, Tiverton, Rhode Island, and brother, Gilbert Starbird, Buckfield, Maine. His grandchildren, Melissa (Michael) Harvell, Vine Grove, Kentucky, R Todd Starbird, Rockland, Maine, Stephen (Kim) Starbird, Warren, Maine, Mark, Mindy, Heather, and Michael Starbird, all of Toledo, Ohio, Taylor and Austin Benner, Monroe, Michigan, Frank Campbell, Jr., Venice, Florida, Stacey Campbell, Parrish, Florida, and Jonathan (Heather) Campbell, Oldsmar, Florida. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service is being held at the Monroe Alliance Church, 3975 S. Custer Rd, Monroe, Michigan on November 10, 2012 at 11:00 am. Pastor Mark Blake will be officiating. Donations to Hospice of Northwest Ohio may be given in lieu of flowers.
