Raymond Slomka, Sr.

Raymond Slomka, Sr. age 87, of Swanton, OH passed away October 24, 2018 at Ebeid Hospice Residence. He was born August 19, 1931 in Toledo to Walter and Mary (Damazyn) Slomka. Ray graduated from Woodward High School in 1951. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean War. Ray married his high school sweetheart, Dolores in 1952. He was employed with Toledo Edison for more than 40 years retiring in 1990. Ray was very active with the former, St. Anthony Villa. He was a photographer, custom framer, enjoyed cooking, baking and woodworking. Ray was proud of receiving his Associate's Degree from the University of Toledo.

Ray is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Dolores A. Slomka; children, Debbie (Dale) Pelz, Raymond (Karen) Slomka, Jr., Laura (Dave) Kaiser and Drew Slomka; 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his brothers, Albin and Harry Slomka.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. The Newcomer West Sylvania Chapel is assisting the family with professional services.
