Raymond N. LaVoy Jr., age 60, resident of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, with his dad by his side. Ray was born on July 6, 1961, in Toledo, Ohio to Raymond and Beverly (Sundermeier) LaVoy, Sr.
Ray was a 1979 graduate of Whitmer High School. He had worked at Erie Steel Treating for 21 years. Ray coached little league baseball, for many years, for the Westwood Rams. He enjoyed gardening; he had the best looking yard in his neighborhood. He loved watching football, especially the Cowboys and Alabama. Ray enjoyed listening to Blues music. He liked attending his niece and nephew, Savannah and Peyton, dance and sporting events. Ray enjoyed spending time with his family and playing with his faithful companion, Handsome King.
Those left to forever cherish his memory are his parents, Raymond and Beverly (Sundermeier) LaVoy, Sr.; brother, Frederick LaVoy; sister, Jeanne (David) Coressel; niece and goddaughter, Savannah Coressel; nephew, Peyton Coressel; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Isadore and Matilda LaVoy and his maternal grandparents, Jesse and Jean Sundermeier.
Family and friends may visit at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 West Laskey Road, Toledo, Ohio 43623, on Monday, April 11, 2022, from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at St. Clement Catholic Church, 3030 Tremainsville Road, Toledo, Ohio 43613, from 9:00 am until the time of the funeral Mass at 10:00 am, with Fr. Jim Auth officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Erie, Michigan.
