Raymond J. Golatka

Raymond J. "Ray" Golatka, 87 years, of Toledo, OH passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at home surrounded by his loved ones. The son of Frank and Celia (Kroposki) Golatka he was born July 8, 1935 in Toledo, OH. Ray worked for Libbey-Owens-Ford, retiring after 30 years. He married Barbara Galbraith in 1959. Ray enjoyed spending time at his cottage, fishing, boating, and spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed family vacations to the Upper Peninsula since 1964.

Ray is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Barbara; daughter, Patricia (Alan) Winzeler; daughter, Carole Arman; grandchildren, Steven Aldrich, Nick Aldrich, Jessica (Rexal Horne) Aldrich, Tyson (Shelby) Winzeler, Shana Winzeler, and Tanae (Taylor) Smith: great-grandchildren, McKinley Jean Horne, Aubree, Greyson, Aria, and Maddox. He was preceded in death by his parents; all his siblings, Marion, Francis, Frank, Betty, and James; and great-grandson, Brockton Mitchell.

The family will receive guests on Thursday, February 2, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Mass will begin Friday, February 3, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church, 3030 Tremainsville Rd., Toledo, OH 43613 with visitation in church from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
