Raymond Arch Caldwell, affectionately known as "Ray," passed away on December 31, 2024, at the age of 36. Born on May 23, 1988, in Toledo, Ohio, Raymond was the beloved son of Robert Caldwell and Teresa Carter-Caldwell and a cherished brother to Robert A. Caldwell and Ranard B. Caldwell.
Raymond grew up in the Westmoreland neighborhood of Toledo, where his infectious personality and kind spirit made him a friend to all. A gifted student, athlete, and musician, he attended Nathan Hale Elementary and Robinson Junior High, excelling in academics, athletics, and the arts. At Central Catholic High School, Raymond’s passion for learning, music, and sports flourished.
He pursued higher education at Morehouse College ultimately finishing his studies at the University of Toledo, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree. Raymond’s professional journey was marked by resilience, charm, and a passion for helping others, especially in the wellness and pharmaceutical industries as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative.
An avid sports fan, gamer, and food enthusiast, Raymond found joy in simple pleasures—sharing meals, cheering for his favorite teams, and spending time with loved ones. Above all, he was a family-centered man with a deep faith in God, whose love and positivity touched everyone he met.
Raymond is survived by his parents, Robert A. Caldwell and Teresa I. Carter-Caldwell; his brothers, Robert Caldwell II and Ranard Caldwell; Uncles and Aunts William Carter (Jennifer), Peggy Jones, James Carter (Cynthia), Rev. Samuel Carter (Doris) and Charles (Jackie); many cousins, with whom he was close, Teri Lynn Slaton, Jermaine Carter, Martin Hill (Jennifer), Eddie Allen (Carol), Lamarr Allen, Anise Simpson, Tyrice Jones (Chantell), Constancia E. Carter, James Z. Carter Jr. (Monique), Dorian S. Carter (LaToya), Kikia R. DaSilva (Thiago), Samarra O. Carter, Charles C. Carter II., Jordan Kavanaugh (William), Sherise M. Ulmer, Jay E. Ulmer, Allie Gates (Devon), Tonya Simmons, Myron C. Duhart (Nicole), Dannie C. Duhart, Myranda A. Duhart, Mykayla R. Duhart; a robust family tree, and a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Elizabeth Caldwell-Walker, William B. Carter, Iula O. Wright-Carter; beloved aunts Jacqueline Ulmer and Mary E. Caldwell-Simmons, his uncle Dobe Ulmer, and his cousin Desiren McHenry.
A celebration of Raymond’s life will take place on Saturday, January 25th, 2025 with a Visitation at 11:00 a.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 12:00 p.m. at End Time Christian Fellowship, 2902 Auburn Ave., Toledo, OH 43606 (419-472-5993). His loving spirit and zest for life will be deeply missed but forever cherished.
