Raymond A. "Peeps" Heath, 92, of Salisbury and previously of Toledo, OH, died on Friday, May 11, 2012 . He was born in New Jersey on September 17, 1919 to the late Raymond and Harriett Stark Heath.
Ray proudly spoke of his service in the United States Army during World War II. As Technician Fourth Grade, 346 Regiment, 87th Infantry Division, he served in the European Theater of Operations including the Battle of the Bulge.
All who know Peeps were amazed at his artistic abilities. He painted in watercolor, oil and pastel. Peeps had a passion for fishing and enjoyed many great fishing trips with family and friends throughout the years. He also loved to dance, play his banjo and listen to music. Recently his great-grandchildren brought him much joy.
In addition to his parents, Ray is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Janice Heath; his sister, Violet Barton; and his brother, Charles Heath. Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Joanie Luppens and her husband Gary of Salisbury, MD; two sons: Richard Heath and his wife Karen of Swanton, OH and Donny Heath and his fiancée Laurie Rutherford; four grandchildren: Daniel and David Luppens, Jennie Adams and Shannon Kameron; three great-grandchildren: Reed Luppens, Braden Adams and Estella Luppens; a niece, Lois Dunikowski; a nephew, Paul Barton; two grand-nephews: Travis and Dylan Barton; and his dear friend, Red Parsons.
There will be a graveside service at Toledo Memorial Park, 6382 Monroe Street, Sylvania, OH on May 26, 2012. Please meet at the front office to process to the graveside at 11:00 a.m.
