Ray A. Garard

Ray A. "Joe" Garard, age 57, of Toledo, "God's Special Angel," passed away peacefully Thursday, May 20, 2021 in the arms of his loving brother. He was born on September 29, 1963 to Ronald and Virginia Garard in Toledo. Joe was a graduate of Paradise Valley High School in Phoenix, AZ. He was a diehard fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes football. Joe had a great personality and never met a stranger; he always had a smile on his face. He left an imprint on everyone's hearts that he met. Joe was an avid bowler and on a league for many years. He had a passion for music, especially Elvis Presley; and also enjoyed singing and dancing. Joe loved time spent with his family and making them laugh. He looked forward to the family get-togethers and having his 1 beer. He was always the entertainer and the attention always flocked to him. Joe's smile, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his father. Left to cherish Joe's memory are his mom, Ginny Garard; brother, Sam (Sandy) Garard; sister, Jackie (Love) Owens; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

There will be no visitation for Joe at the funeral home. There will be a Celebration of life to honor Joe at a later date. Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, Toledo (419-473-0300).
