Ray C. LeFevers, age 81, of Toledo, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at Ebeid Hospice Residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 10, 1931 to Gabe and Sarah (Howard) LeFevers in Kettle Island, Kentucky. Ray was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving his country proudly during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Dana Corp. after many years of service. Ray was an avid fisherman and loved the time spent in Florida. He enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Virgil LeFevers; sisters, Ruby Helton and AdaLee Johnson; and great-grandchildren, Anna, Jacob and Ian Merrick. Ray is survived by his loving wife of almost 58 years, Mary Alice LeFevers; daughter, Elizabeth (Robert) Merrick; son, Howard LeFevers; grandchildren, Jason (Tammy), Chad (Kristen), Brandon, Heather (Westley) and Morgan (David); great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Kaylee, Zachary, Westley, Aidan, Chandler, Katelyn, Jeremy, Bailie, Keely, Kierstyn, Ailey, Kaleb, Dash and Madyn; sister, Shelby Hatfield; and brother, Herb (Pauline) LeFevers.
The family will receive guests on Monday from 10 – 11:30 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) with Funeral Services beginning at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
