Randal J. "Randy" Monnin, age 49, of Sylvania, passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Ebeid Hospice Residence with loving family by his side. He was born on November 11, 1971 to Lawrence and Janet (Raterman) Monnin in Sidney, OH. Randy graduated from Sidney High School and went on obtain his Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the University of Toledo, graduating Magna Cum Laude. After graduating he started working for Warnock, Tanner & Assoc. as an Oracle Database Administrator and continued working there throughout his entire career. He was an avid sports fan, especially University of Michigan football, and the Toledo Mud Hens baseball. Randy always enjoyed the yearly rivalry with his family; "Go Blue". His favorite pastimes were playing trivia with friends, Mike and Will, after their radio show, "Lost in the 80's" and his Wednesday nights with Daniel.
Randy and Anne were married 24 years and had 3 beautiful children. He loved spending time with his family and most importantly his wife and children. Randy organized the family get-togethers several times a year to celebrate special occasions, he was the glue that held the family together. Randy's smile, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his son, Randal Jr. Left to cherish Randy's memory are his loving wife, Anne; children, Ashley (Matt) Kidd, Allison (Lachlan) Hanrahan and Isaac; parents, Larry and Janet Monnin; brothers, Rick (Janet) and Rob (Julie) Monnin; mother-in-law, Mariann Jackson; several nieces, nephews and dear friends.
The family will receive guests on Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 2 – 6:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – West Sylvania Chapel, 3655 King Rd., Toledo (419-392-9500).
Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the Colon Cancer Coalition. Flowers may also be sent to Newcomer for Services.
