Ramon J. "Ray" LaZette, age 80, of Lambertville, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 27, 2013 at The Toledo Hospital. He was born on June 7, 1933 to Orton and Frances (Kellermeier) LaZette in Toledo. Ray was a graduate of Macomber High School and served his country during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Army. For his entire life he worked as a furniture refinisher for various companies in Toledo; retiring from the Lion Store. Ray was the Assistant Chief at Morin Point Fire Department. His true passion was woodworking and creating special gifts for those he loved. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son and family and loved to watch the birds in his backyard. He was an avid Michigan Football fanatic. Ray was a proud life-long member of the N.R.A.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Bea LaZette; children, Phil (Peggy) LaZette, Linda (Joey) Good, Lisa (Jon) Horn, Jeaninne (Bob) Johnson and Lynn (Scott) Cerveny; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Fran Blank, Rita Rowland of California and Charmaine Napierela. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Curtiss.
The family will receive guests on Sunday, December 29, 2013 from 12:30 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church, 4703 Summit St. Toledo, OH. Memorial Services will begin in the church at 1:00 p.m.
