Ramiro Muñiz, 65, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2012. He was born on October 19, 1946 to the late Florencia and José Muñiz in Waterville, Ohio.
Ramiro was passionate about baseball and he loved the Cleveland Indians. He coached Little League Baseball for many years for different teams in the Toledo area. Ramiro enjoyed spending time with his family; he especially adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Ramiro was preceded in death by his loving wife of 40 years, Judith; brothers, José and Leonel; grandson, Joe Joe. Left to cherish his memory are his sons, John (Jill), Joseph and Brian; sisters, Maria Montelongo and Margie (Gilbert) Alvarado; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive guests on Thursday from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). A Rosary Service will begin at 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 738 S. St. Clair, Toledo. Prayers will begin at 9:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial at St. Joseph Cemetery in Maumee. Fr. Juan Francisco officiating.
