Ralph D. Sumner, age 79, of Toledo, passed away March 30, 2018 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. Ralph was born June 20, 1938 in Kenvir, KY to Josh and Maude (Stonner) Sumner. He was employed with the General Motors for more than 38 years retiring in 2003. Ralph was a member of and a past President of the Moose, Eagles, VFW, UAW Local 14 in Toledo, Ohio.
He is survived by his children, Tim Sumner, Kim Sumner, Tina (Duane) Rutkowski, Tommy (Kandy) Sumner, brothers, Ron (Debbie) Sumner, John (Irene) Sumner, sister, Fran Poling, brothers-in-law, Walter Turk, John Dutcher and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Pat; brother, Bobby Sumner; sisters, Ruby Turk, Patricia Dutcher; brother-in-law, Jim Poling and granddaughter, Cindy Sumner.
The family will receive guests Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Newcomer - Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Friday at 10:00 am. at the funeral home followed by burial will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
