Ralph L. Rogers, 92, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2015. He was born on May 7, 1923 to the late Alda and James Rogers.
Ralph was a Cadet at Clemson University until he was called to service in WWII. He joined the U.S. Air Force and became a Lieutenant. Ralph loved flying a P51 Mustang Fighter. Ralph was honorably discharged as a Captain and returned to Clemson to finish his degree in Electrical Engineering. He then got a job with Haughton Elevator and moved to Toledo, Ohio. Ralph worked there until he retired. Ralph loved to golf and was a marshal at Ottawa Park Golf Course for many years. He was so proud of his one and only hole-in-one there.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 70 years, Lillian; son, Mark (Vicki); granddaughter, Jennifer; grandson, Chris (Megan); great-granddaughters, Maya and Stella. Ralph was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald and Jimmy.
The family will receive visitors from 3-7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 28, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
