R. Preston Smith

R. Preston Smith age 66 of Maumee, Ohio passed away on December 20, 2024 at St. Vincent Medical Center. He was born in Montgomery, AL on May 28, 1958.

Preston was employed as a supervisor in purchasing at Bollin Printing for many years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Perrysburg where he was active in the digital ministry and the Tuesday morning bible study. 

Surviving are his siblings, Cheryl (Ron) Hogrefe, Darlene Provo, Gina (Mark) Ventura and Tanya (Sriram) Sadagopan; and many nieces and nephews who affectionally knew him as “Uncle Grizz”. Preston was preceded in death by his wife, Carrie; mother, Cherie S. Thomas and birth father, Robert Preston Peek.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at 12:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Perrysburg, 590 W. South Boundary St. Perrysburg, OH Newcomer Funeral Home (Southwest Chapel), Toledo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
